Accessibilty Statement

This site is accessible to persons with disabilities or bandwidth limitations using screen readers or browsers displaying only text.

Standards Compliance

This site is valid XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.0 (Cascading Style Sheets). This has many benefits.

This site meets Section 508 standards to the best of my knowledge. The meeting of these standards are inherently a judgement call.

All pages on this site use structured semantic markup. H2 tags are used for main titles, and H5 tags are used for subtitles. This allows browsers incapable of displaying CSS to retain correct formatting (backwards compatability).

Images

All images use proper alt tags. All purely decorative images use null alt tags, or are embedded through CSS as background images instead of using the standard img tag.

Visual Design

This site solely uses CSS for visual layout. This allows for viewing on a wide range of devices. If a device does not support CSS, the content is still completely visible and navigable.

This site uses relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers allowing users to resize the text if it is not legible.

All links are of different font weight, brightness, and hue compared to the body text. The only exception to this rule are the menu links, which are discontinuous in terms of location and the change in appearance when activating the mouse-over state. These practices ensure persons with color blindness are able to easily discern links from normal text.

Printing

One can print any page on this site without the need for a special "print-version" of the page. This is accomplished through CSS.

Resources

Mark Pilgrim's Dive into Accessibility was a fine aid to the design of this site. Wander over there if you're still reading this.
